My Journey so far…

Over the past 15 years I have acquired skills, experience and qualifications in textiles and design, photography and art, nursery nursing, primary school education and most importantly, motherhood. All which have shaped me as a person and have enriched my life, enabling me to pursue my passion as a yogabirth teacher, childbirth educator and Doula.

My yoga journey began in my early 20’s, practising Hatha Yoga. This gave me the tools to confront everyday challenges and expectations in todays’ society, enabling me release any tensions and clear my mindset of  any negativity or worries.

Growing-up within a childminding environment and surrounded by a family of teachers, I have always felt the need to care and nurture. This led me to an enjoyable career as a Nursery Nurse and later as a  primary school teacher. My career path changed when I was pregnant with my first-born. A friend who shared similar fears as I did about birth, had highly recommended ‘yogabirth’ classes. I had never experienced anything quite like it.  Over the days, weeks and months, my mindset and about birth had completely changed.  I began to feel lighter, stronger, calmer and empowered in birthing my baby. The discussions held at the end of each class were invaluable and cleared many misconceptions around pregnancy and birth. So, it was at this point I decided to pursue a career as a Yogabirth teacher and my inspiration for becoming a doula grew.

After studying for 2 years, I am proud to say that I am a certified YogaBirth teacher by the YogaBirth Organisation, whose training course has been accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.  I am dedicated to continuously provide the best I can through my own personal yoga practice, research and attending Yogabirths CPD.

My teaching is enriched by my artistic and musical background, interests and cultural surroundings.  I am a firm believer in the freedom of expression and choice without passing any judgement or expectations on the individual . Within my classes I weave creative elements and inspirations that have influenced, guided and empowered me.     I hope these will bare a positive experience in a way they have for me.
